The AspenClean team
Nearly 10 years ago Alicia Sokolowski and Chris Solodko arrived in Vancouver, BC from California, following careers in their respective fields in both Europe and North America. Alicia was a Chartered Accountant, Chris an Electrical Engineer. Alicia explored the idea of entrepreneurship and liked the concept of a residential cleaning company. She spent a year researching the ways in which this kind of business could truly brand itself, asking, “How can a cleaning concept differentiate from all the other companies and create a stand-out brand?”
The answer was found in her personal concerns about the health of her own children and the safety of their environment. She realised this “stand-out brand” could be crafted around the creation of a line of environmentally safe products used in a cleaning service and in turn sold to consumers. This insight led to extensive product research and to the development of a branded, proprietary line of cleaning products and special microfiber cloths. Together, Alicia and Chris refined their business strategy and AspenClean, born out of a passion for effective cleaning without harsh chemicals, was launched in 2004, growing dramatically ever since.
Originally from Portsmouth in the UK, Matt studied as a Civil Engineer at the University of Leeds before moving to Canada in 2008. He has been part of the AspenClean team since March 2010 and has risen through the ranks to become our Operations Manager.
Thanks to his analytical expertise Matt manipulates our cleaning schedule on a daily basis to ensure all fifty daily cleaning appointments are scheduled for clients when they are expecting them to occur and that every customer is happy.
When Matt's not in the office you're likely to find him on Grouse Mountain skiing or working his way through his Entertainment Book.
Also hailing from the UK, Aimee joined the AspenClean team shortly after moving to Vancouver in September 2011.
After graduating with a degree in English Language Studies with Media from the University of Brighton, Aimee spent some time in West Africa and Europe before heading back to her home town of Birmingham to work in Marketing and Advertising at a publishing company.
If you can’t find Aimee out and about at our events chatting about our products and services, you can usually find her tweeting or blogging about them instead!
In her spare time Aimee likes to indulge in 1950’s inspired fashion and explore the BC mountains.
Raymond is the newest addition to the AspenClean team, having graduated with a Bachelor in Economics from Simon Fraser University in December 2011. A true Vancouverite, Raymond is a source of local knowledge and is always on hand to guide the teams to their destinations.
When booking an appointment, calling with a service enquiry or emailing the customer care department it is likely that you will reach Raymond and he is always happy to answer any questions you may have.
In his spare time Raymond enjoys reading a good book and listening to piano concertos.
Holly joined AspenClean in November 2011, following three years at a Chartered Accountants Firm. She has a Bachelor of Business Administration Program Accounting from Camosun College in Victoria and deals with our day to day book keeping and accounts.
